Bokaro | 28 February 2023 – An Inter-Academy Vedanta Challenge Trophy was organised by Vedanta ESL Archery Academy on the 27th of February. Over 70 archers from Day Boarding Chandankiyari, SAIL Academy Bokaro, Kasturba Vidyalaya, Holy Cross, and Vedanta ESL Archery Academy competed against one another in this tournament, showcasing their diverse set of talent on ground.
At the end of the tournament, Vedanta ESL Archery Academy was declared the overall winner by securing 25 medals in total with 8 golds, 8 silver, and 9 bronze while Day Boarding Chandankiyari turned out to be the runner up with overall 13 medals.
Bokaro | 8th February 2022 – ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group company and a key national steel player, got recognised among the ‘Top 50 India’s Best Workplaces in Manufacturing 2023’. The award is a representation of the healthy work culture sustained by the people of Vedanta ESL, which is based upon the rightful ethics and sense of responsibilities within every individual working for the organisation.

Bokaro | 5th January, 2023 – Vedanta ESL, one of the primary steel producers in the country, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday with AAS Vidyalaya, an Ed-Tech startup, to set up Education Cafés for students from classes 6th to 10th. The MoU was signed at the DC office between Vikas Kakwani (Founder, AAS Vidyalaya), Ashish Gupta (CEO, ESL) and Prabla Xesh (District Education Officer, Bokaro) in the presence of Kuldeep Chaudhary (Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro) and ESL’s CSR team.
The project Vedanta-AAS Vidyalaya commences from January 2023 and intends to provide regular learning, guidance and mentoring support to the students through e-learning tools like laptops/tablets where they will have access to complete curriculum for all subjects.
Bokaro | 20 January 2023 – The local handicraft artisans are getting the much-deserving opportunity to showcase their craft to the larger public at the Swadeshi Swavalamban Mela. Amongst them are the women beneficiaries of Vedanta-ESL CSR’s Project JIVIKA who are exhibiting their handmade bamboo products, textile, mushroom, puffed rice, etc. at their stall which can be purchased at reasonable rates.
The Swadeshi Mela, currently ongoing at Sector-4, Bokaro, is yet another step in the direction of advancing the idea of building an AatmaNirbhar Bharat. The exhibition is live from 18 to 25 January 2023 from 10 am to 8 pm. Women beneficiaries of Project JIVIKA also have their products available on the Miri Circle app and one can book their desired choice of item through that app as well. It’s a novel move which is also contributing towards making a Digital India possible.
Bokaro | 31st January 2023 – India’s 74th Republic Day celebration had pride, enthusiasm and ambition written all over it. As a reward to these beautiful emotions, people from all walks of life came together to celebrate this beautiful nation.
Being a frontrunner in contributing towards social cause, Vedanta-ESL has transformed thousands of lives for good. Hence, to acknowledge and appreciate the CSR activities carried by Vedanta ESL Steel Ltd., Mr. Kuldeep Chaudhary, DC Bokaro, bestowed an Award of Honour & Letter of Appreciation to Mr. Ashish Ranjan, Head CSR, ER & PR of Vedanta ESL Steel Ltd. for the various contributions made towards the welfare of the community through their holistic CSR programmes.
Vedanta ESL CSR, in association with the Red Cross Society, Bokaro & Citizens Foundation, successfully organized a blood donation camp on September 13th, 2023. The event took place at OHC, 16 Khata, and witnessed the active participation of numerous enthusiastic donors.
The event was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Ashish Gupta, CEO, Vedanta ESL Steel Limited and Guest of Honour, Mr. U.C.Mohanty, M.O. Incharge, Red Cross Society in the presence of Mr. Ashish Ranjan, Head Community Relations & Mr. Vijay Sindhu, Chief Security Officer.
The primary objective of the blood donation camp was to contribute to the noble cause of donating blood by encouraging voluntary participation from a diverse range of individuals, including 110+ employees, business partners, vendors, and community members.
Vedanta ESL Steel Limited, a leading integrated steel producer of India, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing eight gold awards at the prestigious 31st Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts (CCQC) hosted by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) – Bokaro Chapter. Vedanta ESL’s exceptional teams demonstrated their expertise by outperforming peers from various organizations within the Bokaro chapter of QCFI, presenting innovative projects covering a broad spectrum of topics.
The CCQC event is a prestigious platform for organizations to showcase their dedication to Business Excellence, quality enhancement and continuous improvement. Vedanta ESL, renowned for its relentless pursuit of quality and innovation, entered eight teams, each presenting projects to drive automation, improve efficiency, safety, and quality across the organization.
As the nation celebrated the 77th year of Independence, Vedanta ESL Bokaro, a leading integrated steel producer of India, took this opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to progress, empowerment, and positive impact on the community that they serve are a part of. Vedanta-ESL’s CSR team further elevated the emotions as they celebrated this significant day at various project locations.
Notably the celebration took this place at different project centres, including Vedanta ESL Skill School, Vedanta ESL Archery Academy, Vedanta ESL Excel 30 Centre, Vedanta AAS Vidyalaya, and Primary Healthcare Centre, Dhandabar and 150 Nandghars. Students at at Skill School and Archery Academy performed different patriotic songs, dances, speeches, Shayari, and drama. Various chief guests graced the celebrations.
9th August 2023 – On the occasion of World Indigeous Day, Vedanta ESL Steel Ltd, in collaboration with NABARD and their esteemed partner implementing agency Gramin Seva Sangh (GSS), proudly inaugurated two transformative facilities that promise to uplift the lives of the indigenous people of Kunwarpur village. The initiatives include 10 vermi-compost units, each featuring 2 beds, to engage 10 landless farmers and a solar-operated pumphouse for providing irrigation facilities to 16 acres of agricultural lands as part of its renowned Wadi Project. The Wadi Project, launched during the 2020-21 fiscal year, has profoundly impacted 8 villages in the Chas and Chandankiyari blocks.
